Some Causes of Hearing Loss
Hearing loss can be attributed to many factors including aging, exposure to loud noises, and diabetes. Often times noise induced hearing loss can be attributed to a genetic predisposition to loud noises. Some medications can have an adverse reaction to your hearing. You should consult your physician if you are experiencing hearing loss from a new medication and have the dosage adjusted accordingly.
Genetics may also contribute to hearing loss. If your parents or grandparents suffered from hearing loss, then you, too, may be susceptible to it. Some children are born with hearing loss. If your child doesn’t respond to sounds, it is best to respond quickly by having the child tested.
